Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Potential of Lavender Meal and Essential Oil for Dairy Cows
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
The manuscript submitted for review is very interesting and touching on topical content.
In my opinion, the Materials and Methods chapter is unclear. There is no information about the form (WL, LM, LEO) and amount (0%, 0.05%, and 0.10%) of the lavender that was added. This information is only included in the abstract. This chapter needs elaboration and clarification

Reviewer 2 Report
Review comments on “Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Potential of Lavender Meal and Essential Oil for Dairy Cows” by Levend CoÅŸkuntuna etl.
This work presents the study to evaluate the potential of lavender meal (LM) and lavender essential oil (LEO) to mitigate methane emissions by dairy cow.
My main general comments are as below:
- This study is relevant given the current state of global warming on Earth and is aimed at studying the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from farm animals and the loss of energy by the animals themselves by reducing enteral methane. The authors well put the methodical part of laboratory experiments in vitro. I would like to wish the authors of the article to conduct further studies in vivo on a model of cattle with an assessment of the productive qualities of animals under the influence of the herbal supplements used.
- An important shortcoming is that the author does not highlight the contribution of their manuscript in comparison to the work that has been performed by previous researchers. This can be added in the introduction and/or conclusion section.
- Conclusions need more elaboration about: outcomes, limitations, and possible/future scenarios.
