Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The manuscript by Moskvin et al describes the Simple Realistic Model of Spin Reorientation in 4f-3d Compounds. It has been stated that both the temperature and the character of the spin-reorientation transition
are the result from several factors including second and fourth order spin anisotropy of the 3d ions, the crystal field for 4f ions, and also the 4f-3d interactions. The paper presented in an appropriate way and would be interesting for the community and hence it deserves to be published in "magnetochemistry".

Author Response

We are grateful to the reviewer for the efforts in reading the manuscript
and for the positive report.

Reviewer 2 Report

The manuscript deals with a analyzing solutions to simple phenomenological model of spin-reorientation transitions in 4f electron subsystems of the 4f-3d compounds. The model is not controversial and, in my opinion, very useful, while, some comment on the origin of the last term on the right hand side of formula (1) would be in order. I would welkome estimations of the parameters for realistic magnets, but, at least physical units, if included in the numerical estimations performed could make the results easier to be utilized.

Author Response

We are grateful to the reviewer for the effort to read the manuscript
and for the positive report. In accordance with the recommendations
of the reviewer, on page 2 we have added information about
the third term in Exp.(1), and also provided estimates of the
first and second spin anisotropy constants for a typical orthoferrite
YFeO3.

Reviewer 3 Report

Review report: Simple Realistic Model of Spin Reorientation in 4f-3d Compounds
General comment: This paper represents a good short paper dealing with the topic of crystallographic structural models of refinement of perovskite structures. It was written as a short report, but I think that such short works are really necessary for science.
Abstract: Please reconsider writing the Abstract part more appropriately according to standard Manuscript preparation. The starting of the sentence and also the whole text with “We” should be avoided. Please rewrite this part according to suggestions.
Line 8-14: Please rewrite and reorganize this part to be more concise and clearly written for readers. Also, in the introduction part, it should be some information about perovskites and their crystallographic characteristics. It is well-known literature data.
The calculations and interpretations are well written.
In the Conclusion part, please rewrite sentences and text according to suggestions in the Abstract part.

Author Response

We are grateful to the reviewer for the effort to read the manuscript
and for the positive report. In accordance with the recommendations
of the reviewer we have modified sections Abstract, Conclusions and
the text in lines 8-14. In addition we introduced two novel citations
(Refs.[1] and [8]) of review articles with detailed information on
crystalline ans magnetic structure of orthoferrites and orthochromites.
