This paper is interesting as an introduction of plastics recycling. I do see it to be used in a book or encyclopedia, but I do not see the point to publish in a scientific journal.

 

There are also some points to be addressed, which are of some concerns

 

Although the title and focus of the paper is on plastics recycling, the paper mainly reports on microplastics…

 

Do not use acronyms in the keywords: why put STEM and STEAM separately ?

 

Line 122-123 (306,312): it is not clear what the “recycling codes” are here. The codes with numbers 1-7 are not recycling codes: they are resin identification codes (RIC). See ASTM D7611 for more details.

 

Figure S6 : I do not agree at all with this one. ALL plastics can be recycled. Some are more difficult than others, but still can be recycled. You just need to select the right process and conditions. The same comment applies to the discussion on black parts: they can be recycled and some equipment now can detect and sort them depending on the composition and analytical tools used.

The manuscript “Plastics Crash Course: A Website for Teaching Plastics Recycling Through Infographics” authored by Madison and co-author raised the infographics to teach the course about waste plastic issues, which is an interesting topic and works to manage the waste plastics in daily lifeworld. Overall, I can recommend the publication after following revisions.

Introduction section, can author add some content about the common methods to dispose of the plastic wastes, for example, recycling, thermochemical conversions, etc.?

Introduction section, was Infographics method or pathway ever used in proposed topic? Please give a brief introduction for Infographics.

I would suggest authors to carefully check the references section, and at least uniform the format. For example, reference 11 in Line 368. Also, the use of DOI was recommended, especially for a journal reference. And more references about Infographics can be added.
