Reviewer 2 Report

The authors applied the elastic mode theory to describe the rheological behavior of simple liquids as a function of the imposed shear or strain stress. The mechanical energy is injected into a system initially at thermodynamic equilibrium. The model can represent the results within experimental error in ideal cases and more complicated cases. The manuscript is well addressed and can be accepted as it is.

Author Response

The referee did not ask any questions or request any changes to the manuscript. Therefore, we have no response to make.
