Heat Flow and Thermal Stress Analysis to Enhance the Temperature Distribution and Service Life of Stone Grill Plates in Barbecue Ovens
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
Authors performed a study on heat flow and thermal stress analysis to enhance the temperature distribution and service life of stone grilling plate in barbecue oven by using finite element method. The study needs following revisions as :
- Studied parameters must be given in abstract.
- Physical model is missing. It must be given with coordinates and boundary conditions.
- Grid distribution and grid independency must be given.
- stress analysis" must be added to keywords.
- Literature survey in Introduction can be extended by adding recent works. For example, Conjugate natural convection in a cavity with a conductive partition and filled with different nanofluids on different sides of the partition, Journal of Molecular Liquids 216, 67-77, 2016.
-Boundary conditions must be given as matematically.
- Physical comments of findings must be extended.
Then, manuscript can be accepted in the journal.

1. English language needs some improvement throughout the paper. Please check and correct the grammatical mistakes in the whole document. Please, there are many other errors in this document in several places, please carefully refine the English language.
2. In Table 1, the SI units should be used (e.g., density should be in kg/m3). Also, the unit for Thermal Conductivity for K (Kelvin)while the authors result in degree centigrade (C)
3. Why the authors neglected the effect of an increase in the surrounding temperature on the material of the grill plate?
Where this factor will affect significantly the results.
4. The theoretical part contains a great lack of details to build and analyze the proposed model. It should be rewriting this section and adding the essential details and equations related to the new model. It’s necessary to add a new flowchart to explain the details of the new analysis of the proposed solution.
5. You should add quantitative results in the abstract section.
6. The discussions of results are very limited and insufficient to describe and clarify the results. Therefore, it should be revised this section.
7. It should be highlighted the exact novelty of the work in relation to others researchers in the section of introduction.
8. It should be listed the assumptions (as points), and what are their implications on the results.
9. Please extend conclusions. I suggest adding a paragraph with limitations of the numerical analysis as well as future research directions.
