Comments and Suggestions for Authors

This paper cites quite a few references, but most of them focus on describing material properties and lack specific research results and analysis.

This paper has a total of 42 pages, which is indeed too lengthy. It is recommended to shorten it significantly to improve readability.

The studied conclusion only explains the general precautions for material testing and lacks applicability of the research results.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

1. The significance of this research is not clearly and precisely pointed out in the introduction section, which makes it difficult for readers to understand the necessity of this research.

2. Section 2.5, lines 772-773, "The thickness of the applied bonding agent layer has to be neither too low, nor too high because it can lower the bond strength.", a necessary mechanism explanation should be provided.

3. Section 3.3, “Fire and high temperatures” does not belong to the scope of durability.

4. Section 3.3, lines 894-895, "Error! Reference source not found." The author should insert the reference index correctly.

5. Section 4.1.1, line 927, please check and correct the equation number.

6. Lines 1165-1166, please provide a subtitle for each graph in Figure 7.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The paper summarizes the knowledge on bond between new and old concrete layers. It is not a research paper. Summary and conclusion as well of the small chapter 'Recommendation for future studies' are very short and give not new insights.

The extensive European, esp. German experience on the topic was neglected, e.g.
