The 9th International Conference ISMO’20—Innovations–Sustainability–Modernity–Openness was held on 20–21 May 2020 in Bialystok (Poland).

These times pose new challenges for us, as it is harder to establish and maintain a good and fruitful international cooperation. In view of the global situation in which researchers found themselves, taking into account closed borders and the CODIV-19 pandemic situation, this year the conference was organized online. Participants from Czech Republic, Italy, Lithuania, Morocco, Poland, Slovakia and Ukraine had the opportunity to present their ideas and experiences. They were able to present results of the research as well as build up new contacts in the field of engineering and technology, after the introduction of other presentations.

The main goal of the conference was to promote research in the area of environmental engineering and protection as well as renewable energy and sustainable development.
