Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The present manuscript entitled "Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs): A Potential Nanomaterial for Water Purification" is currently under consideration for publication in Journal of the Composite Science. The submitted review seems to be comprehensive and well-organised in all explored sections.
I just would like to recommend to highlight the importance of this review compared to other already published reviews in the same field, since this argument has been already widely explored.

Moreover, the review explored few reports, also they are not so recent. Please, improve the literature reviews, since a lot of works regarding the application of carbon nanotubes are already presented.  Moreover, the toxicity should be more extended by citing more recent reviews (there are few from 2008 for example).  I reccomend to major revise this manuscript after carefully checking the literature information.

Response: As the reviewer suggested we have added the highlight of this review on lines 54-59.

We have added the toxicity in section 2.4. Carbon Nanotube Materials for Antimicrobial and Antibiofouling (lines 384-415) and section 3 Toxic Potential of CNTs (533-553).

Reviewer 2 Report

To improve your review on CNTs, include a section related to nanocomposite (CNTs) membrane fabrication methods. Also add and compare different SEM images related to the fabricated membranes. Consider using more updated references (from 2015-2020).

Response: As the reviewer suggested, we have added the section of membrane fabrication methods in section 2.2.1 Types of Nanotube Membranes and their Fabrication, lines 265-328.

Sorry, we have not compared the SEM images of the different composites because our review focuses on the water purification using CNT, not on the CNT types and their characterization. We want to keep the topic up to the water purification only.

We have added new references such from 2016-2020

Round 2

Reviewer 1 Report

Thanks to the authors to have taken into account my comments and remarks. The paper was significantly improve and now could be technically acceptable for publication in J. Compos. Sci.
