Referee's report on "Exploring cosmic matter in the laboratory-The CBM experiment at FAIR" by Peter Senger
The author presents an interesting overview of the experimental opportunities which may be acquired by the future Compressed Baryonic Matter (CBM) experiment at GSI FAIR facility.
Among others, the promising experimental observables sensitive to the Equation of State of baryonic matter and to possible baryonic matter phase transitions has been discussed, together with a brief description of the CBM experiment.
I think the manuscript is clearly written and presents useful informations.
Especially with the high current interest in the astrophysical studies of neutron stars and its mergers.
Therefore, I recommend publication of the present manuscript in Particles in the present form.

Reviewer 3 Report
I'd like to congratulate to the author for this well-written manuscript.
Perhaps more broad discussion of the physics of the CBM project with the current Beam Energy program at RHIC would improve the quality of text for the reader not familiar with this interesting part of contemporary nuclear physics. But even without that the manuscript seems to be O.K.
