Acoustics: First 100 Papers Published

Acoustics (ISSN 2624-599X) is an open access peer-reviewed journal published quarterly online by MDPI. Its mission is disseminating rigorously peer-reviewed and high-quality scientific publications in all research areas related to acoustics. The journal recently reached its first milestone by publishing the 100th paper since its launch in 2019 [1]. In the past two years, the published papers have already accumulated 130+ citations overall, and 123,000+ abstract views on the journal website. The inaugural Special Issue was:

“Historical Acoustics: Relationships between People and Sound over Time” (https://www.mdpi.com/journal/acoustics/special_issues/historical_acoustics), which is now also available as a printed edition, or e-book free to download.

Other Special Issues that were successfully completed are:

• “Auditorium Acoustics” (https://www.mdpi.com/journal/acoustics/special_issues/Auditorium_Acoustics);
• “Innovative Design and Applications of Materials for Acoustically Performative Indoor and Outdoor Environments” (https://www.mdpi.com/journal/acoustics/special_issues/acoustical_materials); and
• “Aeroacoustics of Turbomachines” (https://www.mdpi.com/journal/acoustics/special_issues/aeroacoustics_turbomachines).

As of December 2020, the following Special Issues are currently open for submission:

Furthermore, the journal has recently established two Topical Collections; these are open-ended (i.e., without a specific deadline) thematic collections of articles with a focus on emerging and trending topics in the field:

• “Featured Reviews in Acoustics Science” (https://www.mdpi.com/journal/acoustics/special_issues/acoustics_review).
