Innate Immunity in Calcinosis Cutis
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
In this review article, the authors, have explained thoroughly the pathogenesis of Calcinosis cutis (CC), the causative factors, and discussed the available treatments.
A] Strength:
1) The review article provides a good and detailed information on the above mentioned topics.
2) The review article is well written for a broader range of readers.
B] Minor suggestion
1) The authors mentions lack of information on the incidence and prevalence for CC on line# 24-25, and thus does not have any citation for the statement. On searching through the literature, a published report "Prevalence and clinical association with calcinosis cutis in early systemic sclerosis" PMID: 33566708, mentions a brief information about the incidence and prevalence of CC. It would be helpful, to cite the article with relevant information.
2) In section 2.1 starting from line# 47, the authors largely used citation# 7 for all the information. It seems as the information is picked from another review. It is recommended, that the authors provide sufficient and relevant citations for all the information provided for their respective published articles.
3) The author have used the abbreviation "DM" on line# 58, but have provided full form on line# 203. It is recommended to define the abbreviations as per their occurrence in the article.
4) A typographical error within line# 62-62, use of excessive spacebar, is observed.

Reviewer 2 Report
It has been previously described that calcinosis cutis (CC) is commonly associated with autoimmune connective tissue diseases. In this manuscript, the authors demonstrate an important role of the innate immune system in CC's pathophysiology and treatment. Overall, it can be a relatively valuable contribution to the field.
