Gross Pathology in COVID-19
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
The title of the article promised so much, but it was not to be. The abstract is a mainly a paragraph from the text which itself consists of disparate sections from all over the place. Much is inaccurate or have little meaning or purpose.
1. Please, check your typing, there are several instances where there are multiple blank spaces, and places where there is no space between words at all.
2. Some of your sentences are too exhausting, too long and difficult to follow. For instance, the sentence: “Initially, autopsies on deceased COVID-19 patients were scarce due to significant concern about the risk of contagiousness, lack of health care specialists, and the abrupt outbreak of the disease[23].” Has 29 words. And no, no space between “disease” and”[“.
3. Entire paragraph on “group 3 biohazard” (lns 76-84) needs to be rewritten. In its present form it is very difficult to follow. This could ve easily conjoined with the following lines 85 to 92 to avoid vagueness. In this vein you will get pedy and succinct paragraph, that should suffice to a manuscript that does not primary deal with occupational health. What is actually unfortunate, because, honestly, I’ m a bit tired of a classics in pathology – papers presenting nothing new or grounfbreaking… “pathological findings here and pathological findings ther…e”.
4. What is the difference between “COVID-19 Autopsy During the Pandemic” and after the Pandemic? I hope it’s obvious where am I going with this. I’m referring to the “section 2.” of this review, that should commence with ln.93.

Congratulations for your work and the proper procedure followed in order to cover the topic. However I have some comments that in case you agree will advance your endeavor in a higher degree.
Your manuscript is mainly focused in lung and CVD pathology. We do accept that "covid -19 pneumonia" is now considered as a multi-organ multi-system syndrome and long covid symptoms could be then explain. Similar articles with yours have also been published in qualified scientific journals and contain specific information, even from published case reports, for several other tissues targeted by the SARS-2 virus. Thus I suggest to describe a little more extensively the lesions developed in liver, kidneys, spleen and lymphoid system, intestine, pancreas, mesenteric mass and even the skin in order your work will become more valuable in the scientific community.
