Comments and Suggestions for Authors

Abstract:

Lines 17-18: The sentence needs to be rewritten. “its were identified distinct factors”??

Please make sure you use only one terminology for sports. Either Soccer or football. The Abstract says soccer and the introduction has the word football.

Introduction

The introduction is very short and doesn’t explain in detail the work done in the area and why this literature review is needed. Please expand the introduction.

Methods

Line 59: spelling mistake artiles

Comments on the Quality of English Language

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

Abstract :

- Line 16 : Replace 58 by "Fifty-eight".

Introduction :

- The introduction is too short. I would have liked you extend it with an overview of the ACL general Etiology, some details about the relationships between soccer and knee injuries (especially ACL)...etc.

 - Line 31: Please add the date of the article, Marar et al.

Methods :

- Line 50 : The exclusion criteria : you mean the non-inclusion criteria;  because exclusion and non-inclusion criteria are different (Garg R. Methodology for research I. Indian J Anaesth. 2016 Sep;60(9):640-645. doi: 10.4103/0019-5049.190619. PMID: 27729690; PMCID: PMC5037944.)

Results :

- Leave a space between the reference in the text and the word (throughout the entire manuscript): example line 101 "athletes[3]" -> "athletes [3]".

- When you cite 2 or more references, put them like this [4-5] and not [4][5]. Correct for all the manuscript.

- Line 104 : Please add the date of the article, Agel et al.

- Line 114 : Please add the date of the article, Chandran et al.

- Line 129 : What's Q angle ? please specify

- Line 133 : Please add the date of the article, Paolo et al.

- Line 141 : Please add the date of the article, Hewett et al.

- Line 146 : Please add the date of the article, Sutton et al.

- Line 148 : Please add the date of the article, Villa et al.

=> Please do this for all references you cite in the manuscript from there until the end.

- Please add references after the paragraph line 253 to 261.

- Line 296 : What's NFL ? please add the entire appellation before using the abbreviation

Conclusion :

Although the conclusion is slightly lengthy, it effectively summarizes all the results.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

1. References and their descriptions must be formatted as specified in the Instructions for Authors

https://www.mdpi.com/journal/encyclopedia/instructions

2. Explain, what do records like mean (RR, 4.03; 95% CI, 3.70-4.39) etc.

3. In the introduction formulate, please, the aim and objectives of the study.

4. The manuscript  indicates that the selection of articles was carried out starting in 2000 (see paragraph 2.1). From 252 found and selected documents finally only 58 documents were selected out. However, in the References section, from 58 publications, only 41 were published between 2000 and 2024. Moreover, less than 20% of articles from the entire list were published in the last 5 years. In my opinion this is very small number.

5. It is advisable to select the most and least probable from the listed causes of injuries in football, and also arrange all the causes in order of frequency of their occurrence.

This article needs serious revision, first of all, to reconcile conclusions made by authors with publications studied in this work.

41 papers out of 52 are the mains, but we expanded in case of relevance. We added: 2000 , but including some very relevant papers published before.

  1. Moreover, less than 20% of articles from the entire list were published in the last 5 years. In my opinion this is very small number. The topic is relativetely understudied, so the small number is not a surprise.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

I thank the authors for taking into account all comments and suggestions.

Only, I insist that the authors add a reference after this paragraph that is not referenced; Lines 257–261 (revised manuscript): "The effects of the three different materials on ACL injuries are also reflected in the knee valgus moment and tibial external rotation angle. The performance properties of a playing surface measured when simulating the contact of soccer boots with the surface can intuitively respond to the effects of the differences in the surface materials on the kinematics of the athletes’ lower limb performance."

I wish good luck for the future.

Author Response

Thank you very much for the time spent in this review....we added ref. 40 :

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

These comments must be eliminated necessarily!

1. Please pay attention to the requirements set out in the instructions for authors.

In the text, reference numbers should be placed in square brackets [ ], and placed before the punctuation; for example [1], [1–3] or [1,3].

References should be described as follows, depending on the type of work:

Journal Articles:

#. Author 1, A.B.; Author 2, C.D. Title of the article. Abbreviated Journal Name Year, Volume, page range.

Example:

Gibney, M.; Xue, Z.; Swinney, M.; Bialonczyk, D.; Hirsch, L. Reduced silent occlusions with a novel catheter infusion set (BD FlowSmart): Results from two open-label comparative studies. Diabetes Technol. Ther. 2016, 18, 136–143.

2. It is necessary to replace: Agel et al. (1990), Paolo et al. (2023), Hewett et al. (2005), etc. as: Agel et al. [12], Di Paolo et al. [26], Hewett et al. [27] etc.

After replacement, it is necessary to change the numbering of the list of references.
