It is our honor and pleasure to welcome you to the Combined Workshop of European Federation of World’s Poultry Science Association (EF WPSA) Working Groups: WG 6 (Incubation and Fertility) and WG 12 (Physiology) on the behalf of Department of Poultry Breeding, Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Science, Polish Branch of World’s Poultry Science Association (PB WPSA) and the Chairwomen of EF WPSA WG 6 and WG 12.
The 2023 Combined Workshop is the 5th scientific event of both the Working Group 6 (Incubation and Fertility) and 12 (Physiology) of the European Federation of the World’s Poultry Science Association (EF WPSA). Since 2011, this event has been organized every four years under changing local responsibility.
The main objective of the Combined Workshops is to bring together participants from basic and applied research as well as practice and administration, and to present and discuss current news and developments around the topic of avian and poultry incubation, reproduction and physiology. Poultry products will continue to dominate the market and secure the population's supply of animal proteins. Improvements in fertility and reproduction provide a significant contribution. Animal welfare is increasingly becoming a decisive competitive factor in poultry production. The course for this is already set in the pre-breeding and hatching phase. Therefore, the orientation of incubation technique and management in line with the physiological needs of embryos in the various incubation phases is becoming continuously important. Knowledge of the natural breeding of domestic poultry and wild birds can also make a significant contribution.
