Exploring the Impact of Soil Contamination on Vegetable and Herb Cultivation, Nutrient Uptake, Growth Dynamics, and Implementation of Remedial Strategies

This Special Issue, titled “Exploring the Impact of Soil Contamination on Vegetable and Herb Cultivation, Nutrient Uptake, Growth Dynamics, and Implementation of Remedial Strategies”, aims to investigate the complex dynamics surrounding soil contamination and its ramifications on agricultural practices, particularly concerning the cultivation of vegetables and herbs.

Through original research articles, comprehensive reviews, case studies, methodological advancements, and discussions of policy and management perspectives, this Special Issue endeavors to enhance our understanding of how soil contamination affects nutrient uptake, plant growth, and overall crop productivity.

We invite researchers to explore the diverse impacts of soil contamination on nutrient absorption, growth inhibition, and potential health risks associated with the consumption of contaminated products. Additionally, this Special Issue will highlight the challenges faced by farmers and agricultural stakeholders due to soil contamination, along with innovative remediation strategies aimed at mitigating these challenges and restoring soil health.

This Special Issue also aims to provide a platform for discussions of policy implications, regulatory frameworks, and management strategies aimed at addressing soil contamination issues and promoting sustainable agricultural practices. Perspectives and opinions from experts in the field will stimulate debate, raise awareness, and inspire collaborative efforts towards achieving food security and environmental sustainability in the face of soil contamination challenges.

Overall, this Special Issue seeks to foster interdisciplinary collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the dissemination of best practices to address the complex issues surrounding soil contamination and its impact on nutrient uptake, vegetable and herb cultivation, and environmental health.
