Dr. Zixuan Zhang Appointed Editor-in-Chief Assistant of AI Sensors

MDPI’s AI Sensors (ISSN3042-5999), a brand new academic platform and open access journal by MDPI focusing on artificial intelligence, IoT and intelligent sensing, announced the appointment of Dr. Zixuan Zhang as Editor-in-Chief Assistant to Prof. Dr. Chengkuo Lee, marking a strategic step to enhance operational efficiency and global academic influence.
As a newly launched journal in the AI era, AI Sensors is committed to fostering innovation through high-quality knowledge exchange. Leading this mission is Prof. Dr. Chengkuo Lee, the journal’s Editor-in-Chief, who also serves as Chair of the 2nd International Conference on AI Sensors and Transducers (AIS 2025) and an active editor for MDPI. “We strive to provide a dynamic platform for sharing groundbreaking ideas, upholding rigorous yet efficient peer review to ensure top-tier publications,” Prof. Dr. Lee stated. “On behalf of the Editorial Office, we warmly welcome potential contributors and readers to join our journey.”

To build a high-caliber journal alongside Prof. Dr. Lee and his team, Dr. Zixuan Zhang has officially been appointed to support daily operations and improve workflow efficiency. Dr. Zhang brings robust academic credentials: he earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in 2018, followed by MSc and PhD degrees at the National University of Singapore (NUS) under Prof. Dr. Lee’s supervision. Currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at NUS Lab of Sensors, MEMS and NEMS, his expertise aligns closely with the journal’s scopes.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the role and his hopes for the future success of the journal, Dr. Zhang stated: “It is a great honor to join the editorial team of AI Sensors. Moving forward, I will work closely with the Editor-in-Chief, Professor Chengkuo Lee, in elevating the journal’s global impact and visibility, guided by a rigorous academic spirit and an open, innovation-driven vision. By fostering deeper collaborations and accelerating the exchange of pioneering advances where artificial intelligence and intelligent sensing intersect, I hope to help AI Sensors become a vibrant hub where breakthrough ideas inspire. Dr. Zhang’s appointment strengthens AI Sensors’ editorial capacity, leveraging his academic insights and longstanding collaboration with Prof. Dr. Lee. The journal will continue to uphold stringent academic standards, facilitate interdisciplinary exchanges, and drive innovation in AI-powered sensing technologies.
