Dear Colleagues,

I am thrilled to announce that we are preparing a Special Issue dedicated to exploring the fascinating realm of Cell Mechanobiology in Health and Disease, and I am honored to serve as the Guest Editor. The dynamic interplay between cellular mechanics and biological functions has emerged as a critical determinant in understanding the complexities of health and the pathogenesis of diseases. This Special Issue aims to highlight cutting-edge research and innovative reviews that shed light on the mechanobiological principles underlying cellular processes and their implications for disease progression, diagnosis, and therapy.

Cell mechanobiology is pivotal for deciphering the intricacies of cellular responses to their mechanical environment, impacting areas from tissue regeneration and cancer metastasis to the progression of cardiovascular and musculoskeletal diseases. Insights into how cells sense, respond to, and are influenced by mechanical stimuli open new avenues for therapeutic intervention and diagnostic advancements. We are particularly interested in submissions that explore the role of mechanotransduction in disease development, the application of mechanobiological principles in the design of biomaterials and tissue engineering, and novel methodologies for investigating cellular mechanics in health and disease contexts.

Contributions may range from original research articles that provide novel insights into cell mechanobiology's role in health and disease to comprehensive reviews that summarize current knowledge and future directions in the field. We welcome studies that employ interdisciplinary approaches, combining techniques from biology, physics, engineering, and computational sciences, to unravel the complex interactions at play.

For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process.
