Section Information
Aims
In the era of IoT, smart devices with different functionalities have to be integrated into objects that are normally employed in our daily lives and should be capable of wirelessly transferring information. In this context, the development of novel devices and materials, capable of enabling the development of innovative, cost efficient and large-area electronic systems, is fundamental. This section is committed to exploring the synthesis, development, characterization, and modeling of materials and their application in the fabrication of innovative electronic devices and systems, including field-effect transistors, bio-chemical and physical sensors, memory elements, neuromorphic devices, etc.
The aim of this section is to provide the researcher with a highly multidisciplinary platform where they can report and read about i) the synthesis and processing of novel materials for electronics; ii) the chemical and physical properties of materials; iii) the design and fabrication of novel devices; iv) the novel fabrication procedures, with particular attention towards high throughput, cost efficient and eco-friendly approaches; and v) novel applications, from flexible and wearable circuits to smart tags, lab on chip, artificial skin, etc.
