Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Cyber attacks are becoming more sophisticated and, hence, more difficult to detect, compromising and exhausting critical resources and services. Detecting these advanced cyber threats is a topic of great interest in cybersecurity. Therefore, this Special Issue examines the latest trends in cyber attacks, such as sophisticated ransomware, malware attacks, phishing attacks, advanced persistent threats (APTs), zero-day vulnerabilities, and DDoS botnet attacks. In recent years, we have encountered frequent and complex threats, making it essential to develop advanced defense techniques. Developing advanced cyber defense techniques is crucial for effectively detecting network anomalies that are becoming more challenging to identify. Novel methods for detecting these threats are developed, utilizing machine learning to enhance anomaly detection accuracy and reduce inference times. Various tools are used for cybersecurity, including firewalls, malware detection software, and intrusion detection systems (IDSs), which detect unauthorized access to the network. Moreover, effective defense strategies focus on multi-layered security frameworks and zero-trust architectures, ensuring every access request is carefully checked to reduce the risk of unauthorized access. Additionally, IoT security is critical as interconnected devices become more prevalent, requiring robust frameworks to protect against vulnerabilities. Blockchain security is also an important topic to analyze by extracting appropriate features and developing frameworks to improve data integrity and secure transaction processes. We invite submissions on topics like cybersecurity, cyber attacks, advanced detection techniques, machine learning, intrusion detection systems, IoT security, zero-trust security, and blockchain security to help advance the field.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Electronics is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
