Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to present this Special Issue of IJERPH dedicated to the Health Effects of Airborne Particulate Matter. As air pollution continues to pose a significant threat to public health globally, understanding the intricate mechanisms and far-reaching impacts of airborne particulate matter has never been more crucial. This Special Issue brings together cutting-edge research from diverse fields, including epidemiology, toxicology, chemistry, and environmental science, to offer a comprehensive view of how particulate matter affects human health. Through rigorous studies and innovative methodologies, our contributors explore the connections between particulate matter exposure and respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and other health conditions. This Special Issue also delves into the socioeconomic and policy implications of air pollution, emphasizing the need for evidence-based strategies to mitigate its adverse effects. By highlighting recent advances and identifying gaps in the current knowledge, this Special Issue aims to inspire further research and inform public health interventions.
