Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Very little information is available about the factors able to influence the subjective outcomes of periodontal treatment and prognosis. Oral-health-related quality of life is linked not only with periodontal symptoms and functional impairment but also the psychosocial conditions of patients within different age ranges. In particular, the psychosocial health of different subjects depends on the modifications occurring during these age ranges. Little evidence is available on the factors that influence OHRQoL in adolescents and young adults. On the other hand, it is recognized that periodontal diseases negatively influence OHRQoL. Knowledge of psychological factors may lead to the development of a strategy to improve the care of subjects affected by periodontitis at different ages.

For these reasons it seems reasonable to promote a Special Issue on “Oral-Health-Related Quality of Life and Periodontal Health Status among Different Age Groups”.

Adopting multi-, inter-, and trans-disciplinary perspectives, expected submissions can include but are not limited to the following topics:

  • Oral-health-related quality of life (OHRQoL);
  • Periodontal treatment and OHRQoL ;
  • Periodontal status and OHRQoL;
  • OHRQoL in periodontal patients with various comorbidities;
  • Oral hygiene and its influence on OHRQoL at different ages.

All original articles and review articles will be accepted. We hope you will contribute your high-quality research and we look forward to hearing from you.
