Young Investigator Award

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce that the winner of the JMSE 2022 Young Investigator Award is Dr. Do Kyun Kim.

Dr. Do Kyun Kim is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering at Seoul National University, Republic of Korea. His research focuses on non-linear structural mechanics and analysis in
association with limit states and risk-based approaches for “ships and offshore structures”. He is now interested in limit state-based structural analysis and the design of subsea engineering in terms of floating structures, risers, pipelines and many others. In 2013, he received a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree from the Pusan National University (PNU), Republic of Korea. He has authored more than 100 technical papers, including journals and proceedings. Dr. Do Kyun Kim’s Scopus Scientific Citations number is 1,354 and his Hirsch index is 21. He is clearly a rising star in the field of marine science and engineering. This is an outstanding achievement in today’s competitive environment. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Do Kyun Kim for his outstanding achievements.

As the awardee, Dr. Do Kyun Kim will receive an honorarium of CHF 2000, an offer to publish a paper free of charge before the end of December 2023 in JMSE after peer-review, and an engraved plaque.
