The success and esteemed reputation of Materials owes a great deal to the dedication of its Editorial Board members. The Editorial Office deeply appreciates the hard work and commitment of our editors, and so the Materials Editor of Distinction Award is granted annually to acknowledge the Editorial Board members’ exceptional contributions to maintaining the journal’s high international standards. This award honors six members every year, with the winners announced by the end of December.

The prize:
– CHF 1000;
– A certificate.

Materials Editor of Distinction Award

Winner announcement date: 31 March 2026

Eligibility for the Award:

– All Editorial Board members, excluding the EiC and Section EiCs.
– Contributions in 2025 qualify EBMs for this award.

Requirements:

– Promotion of the journal or its papers at academic conferences, among peers, and on social media platforms.
– Participation in editorial work, such as hosting Special Issues/Collections/Topics; making decisions; reviewing papers; handling submissions/invited papers; being involved in reviewing SI topics and Guest Editors; etc.
– Participation in journal webinars, editorial board meetings, journal surveys, etc.
– Serving as a committee member of the journal awards.
