South African Association for Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (SAAM)
The South African Association for Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (SAAM) serves the mechanics community in South Africa (SA). It promotes activities concerning theoretical, experimental and computational mechanics in SA to enhance the development of this country's mechanics expertise. SAAM represents the interests of the mechanics community of South Africa, being recognised nationally and internationally as an adhering organisation of the International Union for Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (IUTAM) and the International Association for Computational Mechanics (IACM). The association provides South African representation in the organisation, planning, and hosting of international IUTAM congresses. It biennially coordinates and organises the South African Conference on Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (SACAM).
