Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The aim of this Special Issue is to explore the recent advancements, challenges, and opportunities in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) applied to micro/nano and advanced manufacturing processes. It seeks to bring together cutting-edge research, novel methodologies, and innovative applications that demonstrate the potential of AI in revolutionizing the field of manufacturing processes. By focusing on the latest developments and emerging trends, this Special Issue aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the potential impact of AI on the manufacturing industry, fostering discussions and collaborations among researchers, practitioners, and industrial stakeholders.

The scope of this Special Issue encompasses a wide range of topics related to the integration of artificial intelligence in micro/nano manufacturing processes. Potential areas of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

AI-Enhanced Process Control: investigations into the use of AI algorithms for the real-time monitoring, control, and optimization of micro/nano manufacturing processes, ensuring precision, accuracy, and repeatability.

Intelligent Materials and Nanomaterials: research into utilizing AI to design and discover new materials on the micro/nano scale, and their integration into manufacturing.

Robotics and Automation on Micro/Nano Scales: exploration of AI-driven robotics and automation techniques to improve the efficiency of micro/nano manufacturing systems.

AI for Additive Manufacturing on Micro/Nano Scales: investigations into the role of AI in advancing additive manufacturing techniques on the micro/nano scales.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Micromachines is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
