Microwave Chemistry

A section of Molecules (ISSN 1420-3049).

Section Information

Molecules has announced a new Section—Microwave Chemistry. The Microwave Chemistry Section publishes original, fundamental, applied, and impactful research and timely review articles on all aspects of microwave-assisted or induced chemical reactions and processing, such as organic synthesis, and the chemical/physical/biological transformation of materials. The journal covers all aspects of microwave assisted synthesis, transformation and processing. In addition, we welcome submissions on microwave-assisted extraction of natural products or minerals in terms of the production of bio-based ingredients, but also for sample preparation prior to analysis. The main scope of the Microwave Chemistry Section of Molecules includes but is not limited to the following core research areas:

  • Microwave synthesis including inorganic (metal oxides, ceramic micromaterials or nanomaterials) and organic (organic molecules, polymers, etc.) materials;
  • Microwave-assisted extraction of essential oil, fats and oils, antioxidants, colors, alkaloids, etc.;
  • Microwave processing of food and non-food systems, large-scale reactors for processing applications;
  • Hybrid techniques: the coupling of microwaves with other technologies such as ultrasound, photochemistry, mechano-chemistry.
