Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Scientists are still looking for new or improved methods to determine many compounds in various food samples. The successful separation and then identification compounds contribute to the achievement of many analytical methods. Distinguishing mixture compounds is based on differences in their physicochemical properties, and various techniques are involved (chromatographic, spectroscopic, electroanalytical). The application of modern, advanced, and innovative techniques is playing a fundamental role in this new scenario, increasing overall knowledge in food analysis.

This Special Issue will focus on state-of-the-art analytical techniques used for food analysis. This encompasses sample treatment, the determination of organic compounds and multi-element analysis, and chemometric data analysis.

The scientific areas to be covered in this Special Issue may include (but are not limited to) the following topics:

a) Sampling strategies including device development for obtaining representative sample materials;
b) Sample preparation including innovative liquid-phase and solid-phase extraction;
c) Derivatization techniques to improve sample preparation, analysis, and detection;
d) Multi-element analysis of samples using spectroscopic techniques;
e) Separations including liquid and gas phase chromatography, capillary electrophoresis;
f) Hyphenated separation techniques and two-dimensional separations;
g) Instrumentation, e.g., portable analytical systems;
h) Chemometrics and data analysis.

We encourage our colleagues to share their scientific achievements in analytical techniques for food analysis in this Special Issue.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Molecules is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2700 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
