Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

In recent years, the structural and characteristic diversity of coordination polymers have attracted much attention due to the polymers’ stable structures, controllable synthesis, and wide applications. Moreover, weak inter- and intramolecular interactions, such as hydrogen bonds, halogen bonds, π–type interactions, and van der Waals forces, play important roles in the crystal growth and crystal engineering of coordination polymers with unique structures and multiple functions. These interactions can stabilize their molecular structures and favor widespread applications in many fields such as optics, electricity, magnetism, gas storage, selective catalysis, and biological activity. Furthermore, coordination polymers also can be used as luminescence sensors, light-emitting diodes and materials for nonlinear optics by adjusting the luminescence pathway of organic ligands or metal ions. This Special Issue will develop a high-quality article collection (including review papers and original research papers) about the application of advanced coordination polymer materials in luminescence sensors. Manuscripts focusing on the following topics are highly welcome:

  1. The controllable synthesis of coordination polymers;
  2. The roles of weak inter- and intramolecular interactions in the design and synthesis of target coordination polymers;
  3. The design of high-performance coordination polymer materials as luminescence sensors;
  4. Research on the visual detection performances of coordination polymers.

Polymers is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
