Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Prayer can take many forms; it can be lofty and serious, but also simple and short; said in one’s own words.

In the 21st century, general understanding and approach to prayer have undergone many changes. In a globalized world, a world that is constantly evolving, in which there is a rising trend of the use of new technologies, and finally, in a world, where economic conditions undergo frequent transformations, for many people, prayer and its meaning are changing over the course of a lifetime.

Thus, many people challenge faith and pose serious questions: Does prayer make sense?  Is prayer effective? What is the individual understanding of prayer?

Can prayer be measured empirically? Do new information technologies have an impact on prayer? Do changing economic conditions affect prayer? Why does a person need prayer? How often and how long do we spend in prayer?

Do we pray for ourselves or for others? What about prayers that are not answered?

This Special Issue seeks answers to these questions.

In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Faith Tradition
  • Interfaith Prayer Service
  • Difficulties in Prayer
  • Prayer and Artificial Intelligence
  • Prayer and Technology
  • Prayer and Philosophy
  • Prayer and its Effectiveness
  • Prayer and Economy
  • Prayer and Time

We look forward to receiving your contributions.
