2020 The inaugural issue was released. Sexes was published as a quarterly journal.
Sexes established the following section:
-Sex Differences and Hormones.
2021 Sexes established the following sections:
-Sexual and Reproductive Health;
-Transgender Health;
-Advances in Urology;
-Andrology;
-Sexually Transmitted Infections/Diseases;
-Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity;
-Gender Studies;
-Women's Health;
-Sexual Behavior and Attitudes.
Section Sex Differences and Hormones was renamed as Biological and Psychosocial Basis Underlying Sexual Response and Differences.
Section Sexual and Reproductive Health was renamed as Sexual and Reproductive Health, Sexual Medicine, and Psychosocial Remediation.
Section Transgender Health was discontinued.
Section Andrology was merged with Section Advances in Urology to create a new section Andrology and Urology.
Section Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity was renamed as Sexual Diversity: Orientation, Gender, Identity, and Attraction.
Section Women's Health was renamed as Women's Health and Gynecology.
2023 Sexes was indexed in Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI)—Web of Science (Clarivate Analytics), starting with Volume 1 (Issue 1).
