Young Investigator Award

We are pleased to announce that the winner of the Symmetry 2020 Young Investigator Award is Dr. Sunny Vagnozzi.
Dr. Sunny Vagnozzi, born in 1992 in Italy, is a Newton-Kavli Fellow at the University of Cambridge (UK). His research at the interface of cosmology, astrophysics, and particle physics has provided remarkable insight into the composition and fate of the universe. Dr. Vagnozzi received his PhD in 2019 from Stockholm University and has an outstanding publication record, comprising over 40 high-quality publications, with over 3000 citations and a Hirsch index of 31. He is widely recognized as a rising star in the field of cosmology. Despite his young age, Dr. Vagnozzi has been the recipient of several academic prizes (including the “Pio Picchi” prize from the Italian Physical Society and the Springer Thesis Award) and has been acknowledged as one of the Top Italian Scientists by the Virtual Italian Academy. In today’s competitive environment, his achievements are outstanding. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Vagnozzi on his impressive array of accomplishments.
As the awardee, Dr. Vagnozzi will receive an honorarium of 2000 CHF, the opportunity to publish a paper free of charge in the Symmetry Feature Paper Special Issue series in 2021, and an engraved plaque.
