This paper reviews the current research landscape on Personal Saving Behavior, focusing on its antecedents and outcomes. Using bibliographic analysis of publication trends—highlighting productive authors, journals, countries, and keywords—the literature is synthesized. A framework-based systematic review is conducted to understand factors influencing saving behavior and its effects, employing the TCM framework to analyze theory, context, and methods across selected studies. Additionally, the ADO framework is used to discuss antecedents, decisions, and outcomes related to personal saving behavior. The review consolidates 112 articles from 2000 to 2025, grouping unique antecedents into nine categories. It also examines how specific antecedents positively or negatively impact saving decisions and outcomes. Finally, using the TCM and ADO frameworks, the study identifies research gaps and discusses future directions, especially from the perspectives of behavioral economics and critical incidents. Introduction: Lumbar radiculopathies involving the entrapment of nerve roots in the lumbar spine are common neuropathic conditions. These conditions affect 40% to 70% of individuals in their lifetime and lead to significant medical costs. Objective: This study aims to identify clinical, psychological, and biomarker-based prognostic factors that predict functional outcomes following surgery for lumbar radiculopathy. Materials and Methods: This prospective cohort study, conducted at Hospital Central de la Defensa Gómez Ulla, Madrid (Spain), adheres to the STROBE guidelines. The study includes patients aged 18–75 with lumbar radiculopathy, confirmed by clinical diagnosis, imaging, and electromyography (EMG) findings. Exclusion criteria include previous lumbar spine surgeries and systemic diseases. The primary outcome is the Oswestry Low Back Pain Disability Questionnaire. Sample size calculations, based on a conservative effect size (f2 = 0.20), determined the need for 172 participants, accounting for a 15% dropout rate and 80% power. Procedure: Patients will undergo an initial assessment, including EMG tests, sociodemographic and psychological questionnaires, blood sample tests, and physical questionnaires. This process will be repeated six months post-intervention, except for the blood sample test, expectations questionnaire, and EMG, which will be performed only once. Statistical Analyses: Data will be analyzed using Python 3.12.3, employing a multivariate linear regression analysis. Assumptions of linearity, independence, homoscedasticity, normality, and no multicollinearity will be validated. Corrective measures will be applied if assumptions are violated. Ethics and Dissemination: The study follows the Declaration of Helsinki guidelines and has been approved by the Ethics Committee of Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (070220241052024). Potential risks will be minimized, and adverse events will be recorded and addressed. Findings will be published in high-impact journals and presented at conferences. Full article

The volume of scientific publications has increased exponentially over the past decades across virtually all academic disciplines. In this landscape of information overload, objective criteria are needed to identify high-impact research. Citation counts have traditionally served as a primary indicator of scientific relevance; however, questions remain as to whether they truly reflect the intrinsic quality of a publication. This study investigates the relationship between citation frequency and a wide range of editorial, authorship, and contextual variables. A dataset of 339,609 articles indexed in Scopus was analyzed, retrieved using the search query TITLE-ABS-KEY (management) AND LIMIT-TO (subarea, “Busi”). The research employed a descriptive analysis followed by two predictive modeling approaches: a Random Forest algorithm to assess variable importance, and a binary logistic regression to estimate the probability of a paper being cited. Results indicate that factors such as journal quartile, country of affiliation, number of authors, open access availability, and keyword usage significantly influence citation outcomes. The Random Forest model explained 94.9% of the variance, while the logistic model achieved an AUC of 0.669, allowing the formulation of a predictive citation equation. Findings suggest that multiple determinants beyond content quality drive citation behavior, and that citation probability can be predicted with reasonable accuracy, though inherent model limitations must be acknowledged. In recent years, there have been significant advances in the application of technology in professional kitchens. This evolution of “smart kitchens” has transformed the food processing sector, ensuring higher standards of food safety through continual microbial monitoring, quality control, and hygiene improvements. This review critically discusses the recent developments in technology in commercial kitchens, focusing on their impact on microbial safety, operational efficiency, and sustainability. The literature was sourced from peer-reviewed journals, industry publications, and regulatory documents published between 2000 and 2025, selected for their relevance to the assurance of food safety using emerging technologies especially for use in commercial kitchens. Some of the most significant of these technologies currently being employed in smart kitchens include the following: smart sensors and IoT devices, artificial intelligence and machine learning systems, blockchain-based traceability technology, robotics and automation, and wearable monitoring devices. The review evaluated these technologies against criteria such as adherence to existing food safety regulations, ease of integration, cost factors, staff training requirements, and consumer perception. It is shown that these innovations will significantly enhance hygiene control, reduce the levels of waste, and increase business revenue. However, they are constrained by high installation costs, integration complexity, lack of standardized assessment measures, and the need for harmonizing automation with human oversight. Thus, for the widespread and effective uptake of these technologies, there is a need for better collaboration between policymakers, food experts, and technology innovators in creating scalable, affordable, and regulation-compliant solutions. Overall, this review provides a consolidated evidence base and practical insights for stakeholders seeking to implement advanced microbial safety technologies in professional kitchens, highlighting both current capabilities and future research opportunities. The aim of this research is to provide a 25-year multi-model analysis of gender dynamics in economics articles that include at least one Romanian-affiliated author, published in Web of Science journals between 2000 and 2025 (2025 records current as of 15 May 2025). Drawing on 4030 papers, we map the bibliometric gender gap by examining first-author status, collaboration patterns, research topics and citation impact. The results show that the female-to-male first-author ratio for Romanian-affiliated publications is close to parity, in sharp contrast to the pronounced under-representation of women among foreign-affiliated first authors. Combining negative binomial, journal fixed-effects Poisson, quantile regressions with a text-based topic analysis, we find no systematic or robust gender penalty in citations once structural and topical factors are controlled for. The initial gender gap largely reflects men’s over-representation in higher-impact journals rather than an intrinsic bias against women’s work. Team size consistently emerges as the strongest predictor of citations, and, by extension, scientific visibility. Our findings offer valuable insights into gender dynamics in a semi-peripheral scientific system, highlighting the nuanced interplay between institutional context, research practices, legislation and academic recognition. Projects play a vital role in achieving organizational success, where artificial intelligence (AI) has a transforming impact in project management (PM). The integration of AI techniques into PM practices has the potential to significantly improve project success rates and enable more effective project management. This article adopted a systematic literature review (SLR) methodology, following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines and employing a content analysis strategy to review 61 peer-reviewed academic journal articles published between 2015 and 2025 in the Web of Science and Scopus. This study investigates the key project success dimensions influenced by AI throughout the project lifecycle, and identifies the AI sub-fields and algorithms employed in relation to project success, where time and cost are found to be the most significantly affected factors in project success. Machine learning (ML), along with its corresponding algorithms, emerged as the most frequently applied AI subfield. This study overviews key AI-influenced project success factors and the main AI subfields and algorithms in recent literature, providing actionable insights for diverse project stakeholders aiming to enhance outcomes through AI. Limitations, including the lack of industry or regional focus, exclusion of project management process groups, and omission of gray literature, were also acknowledged, which suggest valuable directions for future research. Cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) is essential for global food security, especially in tropical regions. As an important genetic resource, its genetics plays a key role in crop breeding, enabling the development of more productive and pest- and disease-resistant varieties. Scientometrics, which quantitatively analyzes the production and impact of scientific research, is crucial for understanding trends in cassava genetics. This study aimed to apply bibliometric methods to conduct a scientific mapping analysis based on yearly publication trends, paper classification, author productivity, journal impact factor, keywords occurrences, and omic approaches to investigate the application of genetics to the species from 1960 to 2022. From the quantitative data analyzed, 3246 articles were retrieved from the Web of Science platform, of which 654 met the inclusion criteria. A significant increase in scientific production was observed from 1993, peaking in 2018. The first article focused on genetics was published in 1969. Among the most relevant journals, Euphytica stood out with 36 articles, followed by Genetics and Molecular Research (n = 30) and Frontiers in Plant Science (n = 25). Brazil leads in the number of papers on cassava genetics (n = 143), followed by China (n = 110) and the United States (n = 75). The analysis of major methodologies (n = 185) reveals a diversified panorama during the study period. Morpho-agronomic descriptors persisted from 1978 to 2022; however, microsatellite markers were the most widely used, with 102 records. Genomics was addressed in 87 articles, and transcriptomics in 65. By clarifying the current landscape, this study supports cassava conservation and breeding, assists in public policy formulation, and guides future research in the field. Full article

The structure of a scientific article is crucial for clearly conveying research findings. Modern scientific publications combine text with various elements—such as tables, graphs, images, diagrams, and maps—that support the narrative and aid data interpretation. Understanding how these components influence a publication’s reception and scientific impact is essential. This study analyzes differences among 15 soil science journals (indexed in the Web of Science) in terms of visual elements, tables, number of authors, and article length. The journals had a 5-year Impact Factor (2023) ranging from 0.9 (Soil and Environment) to 10.4 (Soil Biology and Biochemistry). The Kruskal–Wallis test and Bonferroni-adjusted Dunn’s post hoc tests revealed statistically significant differences across all variables (p < 0.05). The relationships were further assessed using Pearson’s correlation, based on the median number of authors and article length, as well as the percentage of articles that include at least one element of a given type (e.g., table, graph, image, diagram, or map). Key findings show that journals with a higher impact factor tend to publish articles with more authors (r = 0.62, p = 0.014), use diagrams more frequently (r = 0.69, p = 0.004), and include fewer tables (r = –0.85, p < 0.001). These results suggest that journals with a higher 5-year IF tend to include articles with a greater number of authors and a higher frequency of diagram use, while relying less on tables. Full article

The Impact of Regional Policies on Chinese Business Growth: A Bibliometric Approach

In the context of both domestic and international economic landscapes, regional policy has emerged as an increasingly influential factor shaping the developmental trajectories of Chinese enterprises. Despite its growing significance, the extant literature lacks a comprehensive and systematically visualized synthesis that encapsulates the scope and trends of research in this domain. This study addresses this critical gap by conducting an integrative bibliometric and qualitative review of the academic output related to regional policy and Chinese firm growth. Drawing on a final dataset comprising 3428 validated academic publications—selected from an initial pool of 3604 records retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection between 1991 and 2022, the research employs a two-stage methodological framework. In the first phase, advanced bibliometric tools, and software applications, including RStudio, Bibliometrix, VOSviewer, and CitNetExplorer, are utilized to implement techniques such as keyword co-occurrence analysis, thematic clustering, and the tracing of thematic evolution over time. These methods facilitate rigorous data cleansing, breakpoint identification, and the visualization of intellectual structures and emerging research patterns. In the second phase, a targeted qualitative review is conducted to evaluate the influence of regional policies on Chinese firms across three critical stages of business development: start-up, expansion, and maturity. The findings reveal that regional policy interventions generally exert a positive influence on firm performance throughout all stages of development. Notably, a significant concentration of citation activity occurred prior to 2017; however, post-2017, the volume of scholarly publications, journal-level impact (as measured by h-index), and author-level influence experienced a marked increase. Among the 3428 analyzed publications, a substantial portion—2259 articles—originated from Chinese academic institutions, highlighting the strong domestic research interest in the subject. Furthermore, since 2015, there has been a discernible shift in keyword co-occurrence trends, with increasing scholarly attention directed towards sustainable development issues, particularly those related to carbon dioxide emissions and green innovation, reflecting evolving policy priorities and environmental imperatives. Smart safety helmets equipped with vision systems are emerging as powerful tools for industrial infrastructure inspection. This paper presents a comprehensive state-of-the-art review of such VSLAM-enabled (Visual Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) helmets. We surveyed the evolution from basic helmet cameras to intelligent, sensor-fused inspection platforms, highlighting how modern helmets leverage real-time visual SLAM algorithms to map environments and assist inspectors. A systematic literature search was conducted targeting high-impact journals, patents, and industry reports. We classify helmet-integrated camera systems into monocular, stereo, and omnidirectional types and compare their capabilities for infrastructure inspection. We examine core VSLAM algorithms (feature-based, direct, hybrid, and deep-learning-enhanced) and discuss their adaptation to wearable platforms. Multi-sensor fusion approaches integrating inertial, LiDAR, and GNSS data are reviewed, along with edge/cloud processing architectures enabling real-time performance. This paper compiles numerous industrial use cases, from bridges and tunnels to plants and power facilities, demonstrating significant improvements in inspection efficiency, data quality, and worker safety. Key challenges are analyzed, including technical hurdles (battery life, processing limits, and harsh environments), human factors (ergonomics, training, and cognitive load), and regulatory issues (safety certification and data privacy). We also identify emerging trends, such as semantic SLAM, AI-driven defect recognition, hardware miniaturization, and collaborative multi-helmet systems. This review finds that VSLAM-equipped smart helmets offer a transformative approach to infrastructure inspection, enabling real-time mapping, augmented awareness, and safer workflows. We conclude by highlighting current research gaps, notably in standardizing systems and integrating with asset management, and provide recommendations for industry adoption and future research directions. Introduction: Breakfast has emerged as a critical factor in preventing cardiovascular diseases, driven not only by its nutritional content but also by its alignment with circadian rhythms. However, gaps remain in the literature regarding its clinical impact and thematic evolution. Objective: To characterize the global scientific output on the relationship between breakfast quality and cardiovascular health through a systematic bibliometric analysis. Methodology: The PRISMA 2020 protocol was applied to select 1436 original articles indexed in Scopus and Web of Science (1957–2025). Bibliometric tools, including R (v4.4.2) and VOSviewer (v1.6.19) were used to map productivity, impact, collaboration networks, and emerging thematic areas. Results: Scientific output has grown exponentially since 2000. The most influential journals are the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, Nutrients, and Diabetes Care. The United States, United Kingdom, and Japan lead in publication volume and citations, with increasing participation from Latin American countries. Thematic trends have shifted from traditional clinical markers to innovative approaches such as chrononutrition, digital health, and personalized nutrition. However, methodological gaps persist, including a predominance of observational studies and an underrepresentation of vulnerable populations. Conclusions: Breakfast is a dietary practice with profound implications for cardiometabolic health. This study provides a comprehensive overview of scientific literature, highlighting both advancements and challenges. Strengthening international collaboration networks, standardizing definitions of a healthy breakfast, and promoting evidence-based interventions in school, clinical, and community settings are recommended. A comprehensive bibliometric analysis of literature is imperative to elucidate current research landscapes and hotspots in the interplay between gut microbiota and hypertension, identify knowledge gaps, and establish theoretical foundations for the future. We used publications retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) and SCOPUS databases (January 2001–December 2024) to analyze the annual publication trends with GraphPad Prism 9.5.1, to evaluate co-authorship, keywords clusters, and co-citation patterns with VOSviewer 1.6.20, and conducted keyword burst detection and keyword co-occurrence utilizing CiteSpace v6.4.1. We have retrieved 2485 relevant publications published over the past 24 years. A 481-fold increase in global annual publications in this field was observed. China was identified as the most productive country, while the United States demonstrated the highest research impact. For the contributor, Yang Tao (University of Toledo, USA) and the University of Florida (USA) have emerged as the most influential contributors. Among journals, the highest number of articles was published in Nutrients (n = 135), which also achieved the highest citation count (n = 5397). The emergence of novel research hotspots was indicated by high-frequency keywords, mainly “hypertensive disorders of pregnancy”, “mendelian randomization”, “gut-heart axis”, and “hepatitis B virus”. “Trimethylamine N-oxide (TMAO)” and “receptor” may represent promising new research frontiers in the gut microbiota–hypertension nexus. The current research trends are shifting from exploring the factors influencing gut microbiota and hypertension to understanding the underlying mechanisms of these factors and the potential therapeutic applications of microbial modulation for hypertension management. Aims: To systematically review and synthesize qualitative research exploring the Breast Cancer Survivors (BCSs)’ perception of health promotion interventions and informing strategies to mitigate recurrence risk within five years post-treatment and improve clinical outcomes. Specifically, this study addresses the question: “How do women diagnosed with breast cancer perceive health promotion interventions for recurrence prevention?” Design: A systematic review and qualitative meta-synthesis were performed. Data Sources: A systematic search of scientific databases (CINAHL, MEDLINE, and Scopus) was undertaken in November 2024. The reference list was cross-referenced and hand-searched to identify additional articles. Review Methods: Studies were included if they met the following criteria: they were primary qualitative studies focusing on BCSs within five years post-treatment, involving participants who had completed surgery, radiotherapy, or chemotherapy in the same time frame, as this period is critical for monitoring recurrence and implementing health promotion interventions. Only studies published in peer-reviewed journals and written in Italian, English, French, or Spanish were considered, provided that an abstract and the full text were available. Moreover, eligible studies had to be conducted in high-income or middle-income countries. Studies were excluded if they focused exclusively on advanced or metastatic breast cancer, if they involved mixed cancer populations without reporting separate data for BCSs, or if they were non-qualitative studies or gray literature. The review study protocol was registered in the PROSPERO database (CRD42024626033). Results: The literature search identified 490 records, 13 articles from databases, and 3 articles identified via other methods (web and citation searching) that met inclusion criteria. A narrative synthesis approach allowed the emerging five themes: (I) Challenges, (II) Self-motivation and empowerment, (III) The relationships as a facilitator, (IV) Barriers to change, and (V) Proactive support strategies. Conclusions: Addressing internal and external factors that influence health behaviors is essential to improve adherence, reduce recurrence risk, and enhance quality of life. Tailored interventions, social support, and healthcare engagement are crucial in this effort. Impact: Our meta-synthesis highlighted significant challenges as well as valuable resources for health promotion among BCSs, suggesting practical and tailored approaches to improving the adoption of healthy behaviors, supported by relationships and targeted support strategies. Organic Acids in Aquaculture: A Bibliometric Analysis

Fish production faces various challenges throughout its cycle, from rearing to consumption. Organic acids have emerged as an effective fish feed and meat treatment solution. They promote health and well-being, control pathogens, improve digestion, and contribute to food preservation. This study was therefore carried out to evaluate the evolution of publications on the use of organic acids in aquaculture over time, identifying the leading journals, authors, countries, and relevant organizations associated with the publications and determining the keywords most used in publications and research trends on this type of accommodation using bibliometric analysis. For this analysis, the Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus databases were used, with the keywords and Boolean operators “organic acid*” AND (“pathogens” OR “microorganism*” OR “bacteria” OR “fungi”) AND (“fish” OR “fry” OR “pisciculture”). Ninety-six articles were found in 44 journals, with the participation of 426 authors and 188 institutions, from 1995 to 2024. The most crucial publication source with the highest impact factor was the journal Aquaculture, with 14 articles, 2 of which were written by the most relevant author, Koh C., who received the highest number of citations and had the highest impact factor among the 426 authors. China had the most scientific production, with 26 publications on organic acids in aquaculture. However, Malaysia was the country that published the most cited documents, a total of 386. The most relevant affiliation was the University of Sains Malaysia, which participated in the publication of eight articles. The 10 most frequent keywords were fish, organic acids, citric acid, article, bacteria, growth, microorganisms, Oncorhynchus mykiss, animals, and digestibility. The results indicate increased publications on the benefits of using organic acids in aquaculture, highlighting their effectiveness as antibacterial agents and promoters of zootechnical development. However, gaps still require more in-depth research into the ideal dosages, mechanisms of action, and long-term impacts of these compounds. Full article
