This paper develops a Natural Language Processing (NLP) pipeline to quantify the hawkish–dovish stance in the Federal Reserve’s semiannual Monetary Policy Reports (MPRs). The goal is to transform long-form central-bank text into reproducible stance scores and interpretable policy signals for research and monitoring. The corpus comprises 26 MPRs (26 February 2013 to 20 June 2025). PDFs are parsed and segmented and chunks are embedded, indexed with FAISS, retrieved via LangChain, and scored by GPT-4o on a continuous scale from −2 (dovish) to +2 (hawkish). Reliability is assessed with a four-dimension validation suite: (i) semantic consistency using cosine-similarity separation, (ii) numerical consistency against theory-implied correlation ranges (e.g., Taylor-rule logic), (iii) bootstrap stability of reported metrics, and (iv) content-quality diagnostics. Results show a predominant Neutral distribution (50.0%), with Dovish (26.9%) and Hawkish (23.1%). The average stance is near zero (≈0.019) with volatility σ ≈ 0.866, and the latest window exhibits a hawkish drift of ~+0.8 points. The Numerical Consistency Score is 0.800, and the integrated validation score is 0.796, indicating publication-grade robustness. We conclude that an embedding-based, agentic RAG approach with GPT-4o yields a scalable, auditable measure of FED communication; limitations include biannual frequency and prompt/model sensitivity, but the framework is suitable for policy tracking and empirical applications. Under the framework of the “dual carbon” goals, promoting the coordinated development of carbon emission efficiency, carbon sink capacity, and high-quality growth has become a critical issue for regional sustainability. Using panel data from 2006 to 2021, this study systematically investigates the three-dimensional coupling coordination among carbon emission efficiency, carbon sink capacity, and high-quality development in the Greater Chang-Zhu-Tan urban agglomeration. The spatiotemporal evolution, spatial correlation characteristics, and influencing factors of the coupling coordination were also explored. The results indicate that the coupling coordination system exhibits an evolutionary trend of overall stability with localized differentiation. The overall coupling degree remains in the “running-in” stage, while the coordination level is still in a marginally coordinated state. Spatially, the pattern has shifted from “northern leadership” to “multi-polar support,” with Yueyang achieving intermediate coordination, four cities including Changde reaching primary coordination, and three cities including Loudi remaining imbalanced. Spatial correlation has weakened from significant to insignificant, with Xiangtan showing a “low–low” cluster and Hengyang displaying a “high–low” cluster. The evolution of hot and cold spots has moved from marked differentiation to a more balanced distribution, as reflected by the disappearance of cold spots. The empirical analysis confirms a three-dimensional coupling mechanism: ecologically rich regions attain high coordination through carbon sink synergies; economically advanced areas achieve decoupling through innovation-driven development; while traditional industrial cities, despite facing the “green paradox,” demonstrate potential for leapfrog progress through transformation. Among the influencing factors, industrial structure upgrading emerged as the primary driver of spatial differentiation, though with a negative impact. Government support also exhibited a negative effect, whereas the interaction between environmental regulation and both government support and economic development was found to be significant. In light of escalating global environmental deterioration, studies on pro-environmental intention and behaviour with the ultimate goal of identifying contributing factors to minimise environmental issues are common. Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) is widely used to study environmental intentions and behaviours. However, how quality of life (QoL) influences these intentions and interactions among TPB’s own variables within a single research framework has not been thoroughly explored. Therefore, this study extends TPB by incorporating the four dimensions of QoL, as measured by the Control, Autonomy, Self-Realisation, and Pleasure (CASP-19) scale, to understand pro-environmental intentions from Malaysian viewpoints. In this study, quantitative approach was applied, and the data were collected from Malaysians aged 18 and above (N = 182) in Klang Valley, Malaysia. Using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM), a two-step approach was employed to assess the measurement and structural models. The findings confirmed Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) is a robust model for environmental studies showing that subjective norm and perceived behavioural control significantly influence attitudes toward pro-environmental behaviour, ultimately leading to pro-environmental intention. Interestingly, this study found no relationship between QoL dimensions and pro-environmental intention. Background: Scientific literature highlights that practitioners and policymakers in social and educational fields can contribute to the inclusion and empowerment of vulnerable groups when developing actions grounded in scientific evidence of social impact, co-created through dialogic engagement with the concerned communities. This study, aligned with Sustainable Development Goals 4 (“Quality Education”) and 5 (“Gender Equality”), provides new evidence on the co-creation process between policymakers and practitioners and women without higher education degrees and its impact. Methods: A qualitative study was conducted through nine in-depth interviews with practitioners and policymakers engaged in the development of dialogic spaces in education, health, and equality. Results: Two key characteristics were identified: (1) a focus on the inclusion of women not yet involved, through the co-creation of egalitarian spaces for dialogue and decision-making, and (2) a commitment to implementing actions based on scientific evidence of social impact. These led to reported improvements in empowerment, education, well-being, health, and employability, not only for the women themselves but also for their families, schools, and communities. Conclusions: The findings support the promotion of co-creation processes with women without academic qualifications and in vulnerable situations, demonstrating their potential to foster sustainable social development. Landscapes are vital systems where ecological, cultural, perceptual, and socio-economic values meet, making their quality assessment essential for sustainable development. Landscape Quality (LQ), shaped by the interaction of natural processes and human activities, remains methodologically challenging due to its interdisciplinarity and the need to integrate multiple dimensions. This challenge is particularly perceived in peri-urban areas, predominantly understudied in landscape research. This article addresses this gap in LQ assessment at peri-urban landscapes, through the case of Houch Al Oumaraa, Zahleh, a peri-urban area of patrimonial significance and agricultural landscape value. To evaluate the four spatial dimensions of LQ (structural, ecological, cultural and visual), we adopted a mixed methodology, where a pre-developed set of landscape indicators (LIs) applied within GIS and spatial technics, were supplemented by expert analysis through visual studies. Two questions framed this research: (i) is remote sensing sufficient to assess peri-urban LQ, and (ii) what are the limits of applying pre-developed LIs to diverse landscape contexts? Results show moderate fragmentation (CONTAG 61.6%), low diversity (MSDI 0.27), high density of cultural monuments (PROTAP 4.19) and average visual disharmony (FCDHI 0.49). Findings reveal that spatial dimensions alone are insufficient for assessing LQ of peri-urban landscapes, where socio-economic dimensions must also be integrated. Structural indicators (PLAND, MPA, ED, CONTAG) and MSDI proved transferable, while ECOLBAR was less applicable, cultural indicators (PROTAP, HLE) were limited to tangible heritage, and visual indicators (FCDHI, SDHI) highly context dependent. Establishing a differentiated yet standardized framework would not only enhance methodological precision but also ensure that LQ assessment remain relevant across diverse contexts, providing policymakers with actionable insights to align planning with sustainability goals. The integration of artificial intelligence plays a critical role in human resource management in local governments by ensuring smooth, essential HR operations, including recruitment, performance management, and workforce planning. The current study is a systematic review focused on determining the performance management factors that should be considered when using artificial intelligence in the local government sector. Although artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming increasingly integrated into the governance and administrative systems of local governments around the world, this study raises critical questions about how performance should be managed, measured, and improved. Articles were screened based on their title, abstract, and keywords, following which the inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied. A comprehensive search was conducted in the EBSCOhost, Emerald Insight, Taylor & Francis, Scopus, and SpringerLink databases. These databases were chosen because they are prominent sources that publish various materials related to the social sciences. This scoping review followed the PRISMA-ScR (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses Extension for Scoping Reviews) guidelines and included 22 peer-reviewed empirical studies published between 2015 and 2025. Analysis of the identified 22 peer-reviewed articles revealed that the successful application of AI in local government performance management depends on six critical performance management factors: data quality and accessibility; strategic alignment with performance goals; evaluation criteria and metrics; ethical and legal oversight; institutional capacity and leadership; and change management and stakeholder engagement. These factors are interdependent and represent both technical and organisational dimensions of public administration. This study highlights that AI entails more than innovation; it reshapes the foundations of performance governance, requiring new capabilities, values, and institutional practices. Full article

Soybeans (Glycine max) are nutrient-dense legumes and a high-quality plant-based protein source containing all essential amino acids. With a protein content of 36–40%, soy surpasses many other plant-derived proteins in nutritional value. Its bioactive components, particularly peptides and isoflavones, contribute to reducing inflammation, oxidative stress, and the risk of chronic diseases. In undernourished regions such as Pakistan, where protein-energy malnutrition is prevalent among women and children, soy offers a sustainable and cost-effective nutritional intervention. This review synthesizes findings from biochemical analyses, nutritional profiling, and clinical trials evaluating the impact of soybean protein and its bioactive compounds on growth, metabolic health, immune function, and disease prevention. Emphasis was placed on studies relevant to food-insecure populations and technological innovations enhancing soy product bioavailability. Soy protein has been shown to have positive effects on hormonal regulation, cardiovascular health, cognitive function, and immune support. Technological approaches such as fortification and fermentation improve nutritional bioavailability and sensory acceptance. The integration of soy into local diets enhanced nutritional adequacy, promoted environmental sustainability, and aligned with Sustainable Development Goals. Soybeans represent a sustainable, nutrient-rich solution to combat protein-energy malnutrition in vulnerable communities. Their high-quality protein profile, therapeutic properties, and adaptability to local food systems make them an effective strategy for improving public health and supporting environmental resilience. The cement industry accounts for approximately 7–8% of global CO2 emissions, primarily due to energy-intensive clinker production and limestone calcination. With cement demand continuing to rise, particularly in emerging economies, decarbonization has become an urgent global challenge. The objective of this study is to systematically map and synthesize existing evidence on technological pathways, policy measures, and economic barriers to four core decarbonization strategies: clinker substitution, energy efficiency, alternative fuels, as well as carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) in the cement sector, with the goal of identifying practical strategies that can align industry practice with long-term climate goals. A scoping review methodology was adopted, drawing on peer-reviewed journal articles, technical reports, and policy documents to ensure a comprehensive perspective. The results demonstrate that each mitigation pathway is technically feasible but faces substantial real-world constraints. Clinker substitution delivers immediate reduction but is limited by SCM availability/quality, durability qualification, and conservative codes; LC3 is promising where clay logistics allow. Energy-efficiency measures like waste-heat recovery and advanced controls reduce fuel use but face high capital expenditure, downtime, and diminishing returns in modern plants. Alternative fuels can reduce combustion-related emissions but face challenges of supply chains, technical integration challenges, quality, weak waste-management systems, and regulatory acceptance. CCUS, the most considerable long-term potential, addresses process CO2 and enables deep reductions, but remains commercially unviable due to current economics, high costs, limited policy support, lack of large-scale deployment, and access to transport and storage. Cross-cutting economic challenges, regulatory gaps, skill shortages, and social resistance including NIMBYism further slow adoption, particularly in low-income regions. This study concludes that a single pathway is insufficient. An integrated portfolio supported by modernized standards, targeted policy incentives, expanded access to SCMs and waste fuels, scaled CCUS investment, and international collaboration is essential to bridge the gap between climate ambition and industrial implementation. Key recommendations include modernizing cement standards to support higher clinker replacement, providing incentives for energy-efficient upgrades, scaling CCUS through joint investment and carbon pricing and expanding access to biomass and waste-derived fuels. Background/Objectives: In early-stage oncology clinical trials, the use of endpoints beyond overall survival (OS), including recurrence-free survival (RFS) or event-free survival (EFS), is becoming more common. To understand whether these outcomes are important to patients, this study explored the perceived value of non-OS endpoints among Canadians treated for early-stage cancer or with curative intent. Methods: Canadians treated for early-stage breast, lung, or gastrointestinal cancer participated in semi-structured interviews. Participants provided perspectives on OS, RFS, disease-free survival (DFS), EFS, and pathological complete response (pCR) endpoints. Reflexive thematic analysis was used to explore patterns in responses and alignment of trial endpoints with patient treatment goals, priorities and preferences. Results: The mean age of the 33 participants was 54.8 years, and 21 were female; 28 reported prior surgery, and 21 were also treated with chemotherapy (11 specified as neo-adjuvant; 9 specified adjuvant). All participants valued OS, and most viewed non-OS endpoints as reflective of their treatment priorities, including maintaining health-related quality of life and getting back to ‘normal’. They also valued timely and equitable treatment access and equated having access to new treatments with better options. While participants considered efficacy data from clinical trials provided by non-OS endpoints sufficient to want access to new treatments, the relative importance of being disease- or recurrence-free versus maximizing length of life differed according to recurrence status, prognosis, cancer type and life stage. Conclusions: These findings support the relevance and importance of non-OS endpoints to Canadians with early-stage cancer and highlight participants’ desire for rapid approval of treatments with demonstrated improvements in non-OS endpoints. Digital innovation is the core driving force to enhance the competitiveness of enterprises and promote sustainable development, and is a key enabler for achieving corporate ability goals. Executives with information technology (IT) backgrounds who have rich knowledge and skills in digital technology are the backbone of promoting the digital transformation of enterprises and optimizing the allocation of auditing resources. And they can lay the technological foundation for sustainable corporate development and play an important role in corporate audit decision-making. Based on the data of China’s A-share listed companies from 2015 to 2023, the impact of executives with IT backgrounds on auditor selection is empirically analyzed. The study shows that (1) the higher the proportion of executives with IT backgrounds in the executive team, the more the companies tend to choose high-quality auditors; (2) the degree of corporate digital innovation positively moderates the relationship between executives with an IT background and high-quality auditors; (3) the level of corporate internal control plays a mediating effect in the relationship between executives with an IT background and auditor selection; (4) for non-state-owned, large-scale, short executive tenures, and labor-intensive firms, executives with IT backgrounds exert a more significant influence on auditor selection. This study broadens previous research on corporate auditing behaviors from the perspective of executives with IT backgrounds, providing insights for companies to select suitable auditors, to make scientifically sound decisions regarding auditor selection in the context of digital innovation, further optimize internal management, enhance risk response capabilities, and thereby achieve sustainable corporate development. Aiming at the problems of low efficiency, high energy consumption, and poor path quality during the multi-mechanism operation of bridge cranes in spatial tasks, an improved Rapidly exploring Random Tree (RRT) algorithm based on multi-strategy fusion is proposed for energy-efficient path planning. First, the improved algorithm introduces heuristic path information to guide the sampling process, enhancing the quality of sampled nodes. By defining a heuristic boundary, the search space is constrained to goal-relevant regions, thereby improving path planning efficiency. Secondly, focused sampling and reconnection strategies are adopted to significantly enhance path quality while ensuring the global convergence of the algorithm. Combined with line segment sampling and probability control strategies, the algorithm balances global exploration and local refinement, further optimizing path selection. Finally, Bezier curves are applied to smooth the generated path, markedly improving path smoothness and feasibility. Comparative experiments conducted on a constructed three-dimensional simulation platform demonstrate that, compared to other algorithms, the proposed algorithm achieves significant optimization in planning time, path cost, number of path nodes, and number of random tree nodes, while generating smoother paths. Notably, under different operational modes, this study provides a quantitative evaluation of operational efficiency and energy consumption based on energy efficiency trade-offs, offering an effective technical solution for the intelligent operation of bridge cranes. The transition toward sustainable production requires engineering and science education to adopt active, interdisciplinary, and practice-oriented teaching strategies. This article presents a comparative analysis of two educational initiatives implemented in Panama aimed at fostering sustainability competencies at the university and secondary school levels. The first initiative, developed at the Technological University of Panama, integrates project-based learning and circular economy principles into an extracurricular module focused on production planning, sustainable design, and quality management. Students created prototypes using recycled HDPE and additive manufacturing technologies within a simulated startup environment. The second initiative, carried out in two public secondary schools, applied project- and challenge-based learning through the Design Thinking framework, supporting teachers and students in addressing real-world sustainability challenges. Both programs emphasize hands-on learning, creativity, and iterative development, embedding environmental awareness and innovation in both formal and informal educational settings. The article identifies key opportunities and challenges in implementing active methodologies for sustainability education. Challenges such as limited infrastructure and rigid schedules were identified, along with lessons learned for future implementation. Students connected local issues to global goals like the SDGs and saw themselves as agents of change. Background/Objectives: Cerebral palsy (CP) is one of the most common causes of permanent motor disability in children, and its consequences for upper limb function have a significant impact on the patient’s independence and quality of life. Virtual reality is attracting increasing interest as a modern, engaging and effective method of physiotherapy for children with cerebral palsy. This systematic literature review aimed to synthesize current scientific data on the impact of virtual-reality-based physiotherapy on upper limb function in children with cerebral palsy. Methods: The review was conducted in accordance with PRISMA 2020 guidelines. PubMed, Science Direct, Scopus, Web of Science, Research Gate and Google Scholar databases were searched for studies published between 2010 and 2025. Six original studies meeting the following criteria were included in the analysis: virtual reality therapy, population of children with cerebral palsy, physiotherapy goals related to the upper limb and availability of full text. Results: All included studies demonstrated a positive impact of virtual reality on at least one functional parameter of the upper limb, including range of motion, muscle strength, coordination and manual precision. Task-oriented training, immersive virtual reality environments and home-based therapy supported by remote monitoring proved to be the most effective. The effects were particularly noticeable in children with moderate impairment at GMFCS I–III. Conclusions: Virtual reality represents a safe and promising technology to support upper limb physiotherapy in children with cerebral palsy. It can be used both in clinical and home settings, contributing to increased exercise intensity and motivation. Further long-term studies using high-quality methodology are needed to determine the sustainability of the effects and their impact on everyday living. Full article

The rapid development of contemporary artificial intelligence and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies has given rise to the emerging paradigm of the AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things), which is profoundly impacting human life and driving the digital transformation of industries and society. The AIoT not only enhances product functionality and convenience but also accelerates the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). However, the widespread adoption of these technologies still poses challenges related to social inclusivity, particularly regarding insufficient accessibility for elderly users, which may exacerbate the digital divide and social inequality, contradicting SDG 10 (reducing inequality). This study integrates AIoT product development processes based on sustainability and universal design principles using methods such as Quality Function Deployment, the Analytic Hierarchy Process, the Scenario Method, the Entropy Weight Method, and Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation. The features of this process include ease of operation and high flexibility, making it suitable for cross-departmental product development while prioritizing the needs of diverse age groups throughout the development process. The research findings indicate that the AIoT product concepts proposed can meet the needs of diverse users, contributing to the realization of age-friendly products. This study provides a reference point for future AIoT product development, promoting the inclusive and sustainable development of smart technology. Full article

Background: The CAMS Regional System provides crucial, reliable pollen forecasts for allergenic pollen types. These robust predictions support the scientific and medical communities, aiding in the diagnosis, evaluation, and protection of allergic populations. So, the main goal of this study was to evaluate which model, or models best represent and simulate the olive and grass pollen data of the Évora region in the years 2021 to 2024. Results: The results showed that there are statistically significant differences between the data of the models and between the years for each of the pollen types considered. These differences were not just in pollen concentrations; they also appeared in characteristics of the pollen season, like its duration, maximum peak concentration, start date and exposure level. According to Taylor diagrams, applying moving average for normalized data, it was shown that MOCAGE best represents and simulates olive concentration data. For grass pollen SILAM, EURAD-IM and MOCAGE were the best performers. Conclusions: CAMS data can enhance the quality of life of the allergic population, as well as support the scientific and medical community to improve, assist and create mitigation measures that reduce exposure and consequently significantly reduce the occurrence of allergic disease.
