Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The use of a wide array of feed additives in broiler nutrition has gathered pace in the last five years as the chicken meat industry seeks to maintain animal performance and food quality under challenging production and environmental conditions. The continued reduction in the usage of antimicrobial growth promoters has hastened interest in reporting on feed additives that possess the technical attributes to consistently deliver meaningful responses relevant to chicken meat production. Understanding the mechanistic action of how both novel and well-established feed additives relate to improvements in broiler growth, health, and welfare under various conditions is a critical task to ensure that chicken meat production continues to deliver sustainable and economical animal protein to human populations.
This Special Issue will collect original research findings and reviews on feed additives relevant to improving the growth, health, and welfare of broiler chickens and contribute to the current understanding of the advancements and challenges for this area of poultry nutrition.
