Dear Colleagues,
In the current context of climate change, the construction sector needs to minimize its environmental impact. Several solutions have been identified for this purpose, including reducing the consumption of natural raw materials, developing more sustainable construction materials and technologies, and limiting waste generation. The use of recycled materials in construction is gaining popularity due to its double environmental benefit, since it reduces raw material consumption while also allowing for the reuse of large amounts of waste that would otherwise end up in landfills. Beyond reducing the use of raw materials and embodied energy, these recycled materials have the potential to improve the physicochemical properties of building materials, enabling the development of new construction technologies.
This Special Issue provides a platform for researchers engaged in the use of recycled materials in construction to share their experiences, research efforts, and technological advances. The aim of this Special Issue is to promote the use of recycled materials in the construction sector to improve its sustainability.
In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Research areas may include (but are not limited to) research and experimental works that are related to technical advances in recycled construction materials and their applications, materials and waste management, the use of recycled raw materials, waste minimization, or environmental impact evaluation.

Manuscript Submission Information

Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Applied Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
