Dear Colleagues,

Welcome to the Special Issue on "Current Practice and Future Directions of Semantic Web Technologies". This Special Issue is dedicated to exploring the evolving landscape of Semantic Web technologies and their crucial role in shaping the future of information retrieval, knowledge representation, and data integration.

Semantic Web technologies have witnessed significant growth and transformation, revolutionizing the way we organize, access, and understand data on the web. In this Special Issue, we invite submissions that explore the current landscapes and future possibilities of Semantic Web technologies. Our focus is on understanding both the present state and the emerging trends in this dynamic field. We encourage contributions that not only shed light on the latest applications but that also critically examine potential avenues for future development.

The Semantic Web has transcended its initial vision and has found applications in various domains, including but not limited to data integration, knowledge graphs, natural language processing, and artificial intelligence. As Semantic Web technologies continue to evolve, their potential for enabling more intelligent and context-aware information systems is increasingly apparent. We invite researchers and experts to explore and share their work on novel Semantic Web approaches, innovative applications, and real-world-use cases.

Contributions are encouraged to address pioneering Semantic Web technology developments, cutting-edge data representation and inference techniques, and compelling case studies showcasing the impact of Semantic Web technologies in diverse domains. This Special Issue presents a unique opportunity to exchange insights into the current state of Semantic Web practice and its exciting future directions.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Applied Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
