Young Investigator Award

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce that the winner of the Axioms 2022 Young Investigator Award is Dr. S. Ivan Trapasso.

Dr. S. Ivan Trapasso is an assistant professor in mathematical analysis at the Department of Mathematics “G. L. Lagrange” of Politecnico di Torino, Italy. Formerly, he has been a postdoctoral researcher at the Machine Learning Genoa Center (MaLGa) of the University of Genoa, Italy. Dr. Trapasso’s expertise is in the field of harmonic analysis in phase space, focusing on the time-frequency analysis of distributions, operators, and partial differential equations. His research interests extend to mathematical aspects of quantum physics, computational and applied harmonic analysis, and mathematics of machine learning. Dr. Trapasso received his PhD in 2021 and already has a notable publication record on these diverse topics, comprising a research monograph. He took part in the activities of several research projects at national and international level, also serving as the principal investigator. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Trapasso on his outstanding achievements. 

As the awardee, Dr. S. Ivan Trapasso will receive an honorarium of CHF 2000, an offer to publish a paper free of charge before the end of 2023 in Axioms after peer-review, and an electronic certificate.
