Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

This Special Issue cooperates with the IWBBIO 2020 conference (https://iwbbio.ugr.es/index.php).

Open Call-For-Papers

We will solicit papers from the IWBBIO 2020 conference, as well as from researchers working in the field of emerging techniques for bioinformatics and biomedical engineering.

The conference paper should be cited and noted on the first page of the paper; authors are asked to disclose that it is a conference paper in their cover letter and include a statement on what has been changed compared to the original conference paper. Each submission to this issue should contain at least 60% new material, and the common part should not simply be a copy and paste of the conference paper.

Each paper (including the papers from the IWBBIO 2020 conference) will undergo our standard peer-review procedure. Accepted papers will be published in open access format in Computation and collected together on this Special Issue website.

Topics of interest for submission include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Computational Biology
  • Computational proteomics
  • Next-generation sequencing and sequence analysis
  • High-performance in bioinformatics
  • Computational systems for modeling biological processes
  • E-health
  1. Biomedicine
  • Biomedical computing
  • Personalized medicine
  • Nanomedicine
  • Medical education
  • Collaborative medicine
  • Biomedical signal processing
  • Biomedicine in industry and society
  • Electrotherapy and radiotherapy
  1. Biomedical Engineering
  • Computer-assisted surgery
  • Therapeutic engineering
  • Interactive 3D modeling
  • Clinical engineering
  • Telemedicine
  • Biosensors and data acquisition
  • Intelligent instrumentation
  • Patient monitoring
  • Biomedical robotics
  • Bio-nanotechnology
  • Genetic engineering

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Computation is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 1800 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
