Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Cardio-neurology, an emerging interdisciplinary field at the intersection of cardiology and neurology, investigates the intricate and bidirectional interactions between the heart and the brain. This Special Issue, entitled "New Insights into Cardio-Neurology Diagnosis", aims to delve into the latest advancements and breakthroughs in diagnosing conditions stemming from this complex interplay.

The heart and brain are inextricably linked through various physiological pathways, including neural, hormonal, and immune system interactions. Disruptions in this relationship can lead to a range of disorders, including stroke due to cardiac embolism, neurogenic stress cardiomyopathy, and cardiac arrhythmias triggered by neurological events. Understanding these connections is crucial for developing effective diagnostic tools and treatment strategies.

In recent years, significant progress has been made in understanding the cardio-neurological interface. Advanced imaging techniques, biomarker discovery, and novel therapeutic approaches have opened new horizons in diagnosing and managing diseases that manifest at this intersection. This Special Isse aims to highlight these advancements, fostering a deeper understanding of the underlying mechanisms and clinical implications of cardio-neurological disorders.

The primary aim of this Special Issue is to provide a platform for researchers and clinicians to share their findings and insights into the diagnosis of cardio-neurological diseases. We encourage submissions that focus on innovative diagnostic techniques, including imaging, genetics, and biomarkers, and their application in clinical practice. Additionally, we welcome reviews and perspectives that discuss the challenges and future directions in this field.

By collating a diverse range of articles, this Special Issue seeks to enhance the knowledge base of cardio-neurology and contribute to the evolution of more effective and targeted diagnostic approaches, ultimately improving patient outcomes in this dynamic and evolving field.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Diagnostics is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
