Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Decision-making in the emergency department (ED) is fraught with challenges due to many factors: rapidly evolving patient conditions, life-threatening illnesses masquerading as minor ailments, and the constant balancing act of triaging to maximize utilization of ED time and space.

The aim of this Special Issue is to update our knowledge and highlight state-of-the-art research in improving the decision-making process in EDs. We welcome any paper regarding topics such as (but not limited to) early diagnosis, rapid response, risk stratification, and decision making in the ED.

Potential topics of this Special Issue include:

  1. Decision-making algorithms in the emergency department;
  2. Risk stratification and prognostic decision-making tools;
  3. Early diagnosis or point-of-care diagnostics in the emergency department.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.

Thank you.
