AMPK 2018-From Mechanisms to New Therapies
The AMP-activated protein (AMPK) is an essential regulator of cellular energy balance that is switched on in response to stimuli that are associated with a multitude of health benefits such as exercise, caloric restriction and metformin therapy. Over the course of this four day meeting new data detailing the structure, function and physiological role of AMPK will be presented with respect to multiple disease areas including but not limited to aging, cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and obesity.
