Section Information

The Section “Stroke and Cerebrovascular Disease” encompasses studies on the clinical and basic scientific foundations of cerebrovascular diseases. This Section publishes scientific papers on extracerebral vascular disease, embolic stroke, stroke related to cerebrovascular disease, treatment of stroke related to cerebrovascular disease, and the prevention of cerebrovascular disease. Studies may encompass basic cerebral biology, in-vitro and in vivo (animal) models and clinical patient care. Original papers and review articles are welcome.

This Section welcomes submissions including the following topics: stroke related to carotid or vertebrobasilar disease, stroke due to embolic phenomena, prevention of stroke due to vascular disease, treatment to prevent stroke due to cerebrovascular disease or embolic phenomena, rescue methods for the treatment of stroke, congenital cerebrovascular disease, stroke pharmacology, biological implications of vascular stroke, stroke due to atrial fibrillation or cardiac arrhythmias, epigenetic risk factors for embolic or occlusive stroke, medical management of stroke due to embolic or occlusive disease, stroke due to aneurysmal disease, stroke due to vascular malformations, and any additional topics related to vasculogenic stroke.
