Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Economic performance may be significantly impacted by climate change. Given that global temperatures are predicted to climb dramatically over the next century, it is becoming increasingly crucial to comprehend how economic changes, such as as mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and dividend policy, relate to climate change (Hasan, 2024). Below-average temperature has a positive and significant effect on dividend payout and M&A policies (Hasan, 2024; Hasan and Islam, 2022). M&A is an important topic to research since it affects the futures of the acquiring companies significantly. According to Renneboog and Vansteenkiste (2019), the criteria that ultimately determine a deal's success are still unclear, despite several research on M&A by academics. According to Lodh et al. (2024), climate change risks (CCR) can have a significant influence on M&A behaviour and performance. It is imperative that managers include CCR into their formal risk management frameworks in order to prevent failed mergers and acquisitions (M&As) (Lodh et al., 2024) and guarantee steady dividend disbursements (Hasan et al., 2023).

I am writing to invite you to submit academic articles regarding, but not limited to, the following areas:

  • Dividend policy;
  • Dividend policy and emerging markets;
