Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The Internet of Things has been largely recognized as a global network, interconnecting humans with RFIDs (Radio Frequency Identifications), sensors, actuators, smartphones, computers, buildings, home/work appliances, cars, and any other device with the goal of generating actionable intelligence to accelerate decision making. This Special Issue aims to form a reference point for the field of IoT technologies being used in supporting real-time and streaming data analytics, ranging from descriptive analytics and diagnostic analytics into prescriptive analytics and predictive analytics.  We invite works that present and/or review the current state of the art in theory and practice, as well as promising IoT advances in real-world applications.

The objective of this Special Issue is broad in scope, and we solicit original contributions that demonstrate and explore current advances in various aspects, including but not limited to:

  • Wearable Sensor Ecologies
  • V2X
  • Industry 4.0
  • Smart Cities
  • Real-Time AI at the Edge
  • IoT Edge Computing and Analytics
  • IoT Fog Computing and Analytics
  • IoT Cloud Computing and Analytics
  • Real-time Analytics for IoT
  • Streaming Analytics for IoT
  • Machine Learning for IoT
  • Applications, including smart grid, transportation, smart cities, smart buildings, healthcare, environment, water monitoring, advanced manufacturing, public safety and emergency response, and supply chains.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Journal of Sensor and Actuator Networks is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2000 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
