Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce that the journal Particles (ISSN 2571-712X) is collecting articles for a Special Issue entitled “Electroweak and QCD Physics”. This edition will encompass the most recent advancements in these areas and related areas of particle physics.
Electroweak and Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) are two fundamental theories in particle physics that describe different aspects of the behavior of subatomic particles and their interactions. Electroweak theory unifies two of the four fundamental forces of nature, namely electromagnetism and the weak nuclear force, and introduces the concept of gauge bosons: the photon for electromagnetism and the W and Z bosons for the weak force. QCD theory describes the strong nuclear force, which is responsible for holding quarks together to form protons, neutrons, and other hadrons, as well as governing the interactions between these particles. QCD phenomena play a crucial role in understanding phenomena such as jets, verifying the Standard Model (SM) of particle physics, and probing for signs of new physics beyond the SM.
The interplay between Electroweak and QCD physics constitutes a cornerstone of our understanding of the fundamental interactions of the universe. This Special Issue delves into the latest advancements and challenges in these fields, spanning from theoretical developments to experimental discoveries. By compiling contributions from leading researchers, this Special Issue aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of the art in Electroweak and QCD physics and to highlight avenues for future exploration.
Contributions to this Special Issue are expected to showcase original research or provide comprehensive reviews in these fields. Each submission will undergo a rigorous peer-review process conducted by globally renowned experts in the field. This Special Issue aims to provide an extensive and current overview of “Electroweak and QCD Physics” and its associated domains. With a cross-disciplinary approach, we anticipate that the content will cater to a diverse audience, including students, postdoctoral fellows, and seasoned researchers alike, ensuring its broad relevance and usefulness across various levels of expertise.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Particles is an international peer-reviewed open access quarterly journal published by MDPI.

Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
