Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

This Special Issue in palliative care is focused on the various aspects of palliative care, including symptom management, communication, psychosocial and spiritual support, decision-making, and end-of-life care. The Special Issue aims to highlight the latest research, trends, case studies, and best practices in palliative care. Potential authors are encouraged to submit original research, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses that explore the various dimensions of palliative care. This Special Issue welcomes contributions from different disciplines, such as medicine, pharmacy, nursing, social work, psychology, and sociology. Topics of interest include but are not limited to the following:

  • Symptom management and pain control
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration in palliative care
  • Cultural consideration in palliative care
  • The role of technology in palliative care, including telehealth
  • Palliative care and COVID-19
  • The impact of palliative care on patient and family outcomes
  • Models of palliative care delivery
  • Ethical and legal issues in palliative care
  • Education and training of healthcare professionals in palliative care
  • Psychosocial and spiritual care

Overall, this Special Issue aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of palliative care and offer insights into the future directions of this important field.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Pharmacy is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
