Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Inflammatory diseases represent the most common pathology of the female lower genital tract. The immune spectrum of these diseases is based on the interaction between the pathological agent and the host immune response; failure of local and systemic immunological responses causes the establishment of a persistent infection and progression of the lesion. In addition, a significant role is covered by auto-immune diseases in the genital field. Genetic factors, immune system pathways, the genital microbiota microenvironment, and the host characteristics represent the most significant aspects involved in this field.
