Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The review has covered various aspects of HCC treatment very clearly and I have no further questions.

Author Response

Point 1: The review has covered various aspects of HCC treatment very clearly and I have no further questions.

Response 1: The authors thank the reviewer for this kind comment.

Reviewer 2 Report

This review summarized the current knowledge about treatment strategies for hepatocellular carcinoma. This article is well organized and worth publication. However, before it can be accepted for publication, some edits are needed as listed below.

Minor comments:
1) Percutaneous ethanol injection (PEI) appeared in Table 2, however, no description in the text. Although PEI is a classical ablative technique and replaced by RFA, it would be better to explain its histrorical role, advantages and disadvantages.

2) Table 1-3: please add horizontal lines between each point for clarity.

Author Response

Point 1: Percutaneous ethanol injection (PEI) appeared in Table 2, however, no description in the text. Although PEI is a classical ablative technique and replaced by RFA, it would be better to explain its historical role, advantages and disadvantages.

Response 1: We thank the reviewer for this valuable point. We have incorporated these aspects of PEI into the manuscript (p. 7, ll. 234, 249-253).

Point 2: Table 1-3: please add horizontal lines between each point for clarity.

Response 2: The manuscript was edited accordingly (pp. 4 (Table 1) , 9-10 (Table 2), 15-16 (Table 3)). Additionally, we increased the font of Figure 2 for easier readability (p. 12).
