The manuscript entitled "The expanding role of extracellular traps in inflammation and autoimmunity: The new players in casting dark webs" by Stephanie U-Shane Huang and Kim Maree O'Sullivan, contains a complex and complete description of a new form of cell death in neutrophils called "neutrophil extracellular traps" (NETs) or "NETosis" which appears to affect other types of immune cells. The authors also described the corroboration between this type of cell death and a large number of diseases and further explained the mechanisms involved in associating this event with the prevalence of these conditions.

The number of bibliographic references is significant and contains both older and very recent works.

However, I would recommend to the authors a more careful arrangement of the text and figures on the page in order to raise this work to its true value.
