Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The article is exceptionally well written and clear. The one question that arose when reviewing it was whether, when referencing a website, the authors should inseert the date on which they last accessed it. Other than that I would simply say that it was a pleasure to read such a well constructed paper

Author Response

Thank you for the remark. We have added the words “accessed 2023/05/22“ in line 405.

Reviewer 2 Report

The work “Acceptors and effectors alter substrate inhibition kinetics of a plant glucosyltransferase NbUGT72AY1 and its mutants” is devoted to a rather narrow topic describing substrate inhibition of glucosyltransferase. Nevertheless, the study was performed at an excellent level, with a thorough description of various aspects of the reaction kinetics. The manuscript is designed according to the rules, contains the necessary sections. The illustrative material and discussion are correct and sufficient.

Undoubtedly, this work can be accepted for publication in the IJMS MDPI.

Small remark. In the last paragraph of the Introduction section, the authors describe what was done: lines 92-97. It is better to move this to the end of the Discussion or to the Conclusion. Instead, write, for example: "The aim of the study was ..." or "The goal of the study was ..."

Author Response

Thank you for the remark. We have added the words “The aim of the study was to“ in line 94 as suggested.
